Cross-country skiing surrounded by fantastic mountain scenery

Over the years, Saalfelden Leogang has developed to become a quite a centre for cross-country skiing and biathlon in Austria. There are 150 km of cross-country tracks, maintained daily, for all levels of ability and styles. These stretch as far as into the neighbouring villages of Maria Alm, Maishofen, and the biathlon World Cup Metropolis, Hochfilzen.

It is not just the many locals who make use of these facilities; one in every 4 guests staying in the region of Saalfelden Leogang also set off on the narrow tracks. There are certainly plenty of reasons for doing so:

Just like with Nordic Walking, 90% of your muscles are involved in the exercise, your joints are not damaged through the movement, and your circulation is stimulated. Cross-country skiing is also the ideal sport for leisure ski-hikers!

You can decide the level, the gradient, and the speed for yourself individually. Saalfelden Leogang, as a member of the organisation “cross-country skiing & Nordic Fitness in Austria" guarantees high standards in the whole range of cross-country skiing on offer. The cross-country skiing schools are on hand to help beginners and intermediates in the sport.
